The first driver's licenses
The first driver's licenses were issued in Paris in 1893.

- 1st Driver's Licenses' / U.S.A. - "In 1908, Rhode Island issued the first driver's licenses' in the U.S.A."The first driver's license did not exist until after the 1900s un the US and you did not need any documents to sign up. You just went to a local store and bought it like a fishing license with no kind of test.
A driver's license will give you no information about any relative born before the early 1900s.
