There were NO government birth records until after the 1800s
Outside the cities women who had babies may have went to a doctor's office or the doctor may have made a house call.
Later hospitals did keep medical records of patients, but they were NOT shared with the government.
"Certified birth certificates are a fairly recent invention, common only since the 1900s in the United States.
Prior to the 1900s, births frequently went unrecorded or were written down by doctors, midwives, church officials or family members.
If some one produces a government document .. a birth record before this, they are trying to make a fool of you. The government did not record and keep birth or death records until after 1800.
